1 King, Stephen (aka: Richard Bachman ); Afterword By Stephen King

11/22/63: A Novel -by Stephen King ( 11 / 22 / 63 )( November 22nd, 1963 ) ( Time Travel / JFK / John F Kennedy Assassination )

New York, NY: N.Y. / New York: Scribner / Scribner's, 2011, 1st Edition, First Printing

----------hardcover ( 1st issue dustjacket), 849 pages, a Near Fine copy, a few pages have had the corner tips turned and creased (very short crease/turn), --- in a Near Fine dustjacket with a wee bit of very light rubbing, quickly became quite scarce in the 1st edition, 1st printing, this has the complete number line, no writing in the book, not price clipped, no remainder mark, ----it seems that there are two variants to the dustjacket on the 1st edition, the 2nd issue jacket also appears on the 1st edition book and has an advertising bullet on the front cover stating "10 BEST BOOKS The New York Times Book Review 2011", that advertising bullet is NOT on the earler jacket ---as well the 2nd issue jacket with the bullet has a US and a Canadian price on the front flap and on the bar code on the rear panel, ---the issue without the bullet only has a US price on the flap and rear panel, the inclusion of the advertising bullet clearly indicates a secondary issue for the jacket in spite of the copyright page stating First Scribner hardcover edition November 2011 and having a complete number line, ---otherwise the two jackets are exactly the same (the inclusion of a Canadian price is NOT because this is a Canadian issue as that advertising bullet is also on copies in the USA, and why would a CDN issue have an ad for the NEW YORK TIMES? ) ---THIS COPY is the 1st ISSUE jacket ------"On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. --- If you had the chance to change history, would you? Would the consequences be worth it? Jake Epping is a thirty-five-year-old high school English teacher in Lisbon Falls, Maine, who makes extra money teaching adults in the GED program. He receives an essay from one of the students—a gruesome, harrowing first person story about the night 50 years ago when Harry Dunning’s father came home and killed his mother, his sister, and his brother with a hammer. Harry escaped with a smashed leg, as evidenced by his crooked walk. Not much later, Jake’s friend Al, who runs the local diner, divulges a secret: his storeroom is a portal to 1958. He enlists Jake on an insane—and insanely possible—mission to try to prevent the Kennedy assassination. So begins Jake’s new life as George Amberson and his new world of Elvis and JFK, of big American cars and sock hops, of a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald and a beautiful high school librarian named Sadie Dunhill, who becomes the love of Jake’s life—a life that transgresses all the normal rules of time. "---, now a TV mini-series starring James Franco, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo..

---------hardcover, a Near Fine copy in a visually Near Fine dustjacket but there is a short closed tear on the rear panel at the flap fold so a Very Good+ dustjacket, in the early 1990's Doubleday issued some classic King titles with new cover art by Jim Phiesen, that issue did not hang around for long and was replaced soon after by another series of covers, the PHIESEN covers are quite difficult to come by, this is the only King title I have seen with Phiesen cover art and that's 20+ years of selling books, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo

----------hardcover, a Fine unread copy in a Near Fine/ Fine custom made clamshell slipcase (not issued with this production but strongly recommended by The Whitney Museum as a safe harbour for this unique piece), book is approx. 19 x 13 inches, a stunning production and missing from many KING collections, bound in aluminum with a red leather spine, digital clock mounted in the front aluminum panel (battery has run down but can be easily replaced), one of 280 copies, signed by KING and KRUGER, 100 copies were reserved for patrons of the museum, 150 copies were offered for sale, 30 Roman numeraled copies were reserved for family and friends, this is one of the 150 copies edition, when this tome was issued purchasers were given information about caring for the book with the recommendation (certainly a strong suggestion) that the buyer might want to have a custom case made for the book, the company BOOKLAB INC, was recommended for this, this copy DOES HAVE the custom clam-shell tray case designed and produced by BookLab Inc., the case is Near Fine/Fine and is a perfect holder for this massive, weighty book, this copy also has the original BookLab letter and order form for this traycase, that letter states: "A handsome drop-spine box was made to house (this) volume. The box is covered in two tones of grey, with grey tweed book cloth on the case and steel grey fabric on the walls. The title is stamped in silver on the red leather spine label. The interior is lined in steel gray (cloth), and the entire ensemble harmonizes with the book in color and style. ---", As well, a letter (and a catalogue for BL Inc) (both in a Whitney Museum envelope) is included on how to care for the book, including care for the aluminum covers and how to change the battery in the clock, this letter also states that the interleaving protective sheets between the illustrations and the text can be removed ---"in 1990 when the ink is fully dry"---, of course the lithographs were dry but the interleaves were only there for "just-in-case" protection to protect from any potential bleeding of inks, this copy has NOT had the interleaf protectors removed, so this copy is as issued, additional images are available, hard to imagine a nicer, more complete copy, (and finally, this is in the original shipping box for the traycase ---just a cardboard box with packing but it is what the traycase was shipped in when ordered ), overseas shipping (outside of Canada and the USA ) will require additional postage,, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo

-----------12 volumes for the 9 book series, hardcovers, all are Fine copies in Fine dustjackets, these look new but close, close inspection MIGHT reveal TINY marks to a jacket but honestly these are incredibly sharp copies and virtually as issued, WIZARD volume ONE is an unread copy but there is a very-hard-to-see mark on the rear panel so that was likely done by the publisher whilst being handled for shipping, WASTE LANDS is also unread but has a slight ripple on the spine from an old mylar protector which "shrunk" and caused a bit of rippling, all of those old mylar protectors have been removed and have been replaced by new hi-quality mylar protectors, WIZARD, CALLA and TOWER are two-volume sets as issued ( thus 12 volumes for the 9 book series ), all books have been SIGNED by KING and the artist for that volume (although WIZARD, CALLA and TOWER have book ONE of each two-volume set signed and numbered only), all are # 433 of the limited editions, so all are signed and numbered with the same # 433, all housed in Near Fine/Fine slipcases, a couple of slipcases have a wee bit of very light rubbing and a bit of fading along edges from a bit of sunning, The Wind Through the Keyhole is still in shrinkwrap and is therefore Very Fine, this is the complete GUNSLINGER / ROLAND DESCHAIN series with the first 7 books comprising the bulk of the story, ELURIA contains a story about Roland and the Man in Black which pre-dates (in story, not publication) the GUNSLINGER (about 90 pages), as well ELURIA contains an expanded version of The GUNSLINGER, KING has written about this expanded edition ---"What I did want to do was to give newcomers to the tale of the Tower (and old readers who want to refresh their memories) a clearer start and a slightly easier entry into Roland’s world. I also wanted them to have a volume that more effectively foreshadowed coming events. "---, KEYHOLE is the newest addition to the cycle having been released in 2012, you are likely never to see another set like this offered, --- overseas shipping (outside of Canada and the USA ) will require additional postage, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo
